WHY BILBAO?
Food: Basque cuisine is world famous and Bilbao is a must stop. If you don't want to spend a fortune at a high end restaurant, simply go out and have some pintxos and zuritos and taste some delicacies.
Party: Bilbao is a big city and bilbaínos like to go out, so it's easy for you to turn a nice pintxos evening into a party at any of the pubs and clubs in the city, where you can have fun until quite late.

KNOW BILBAO
The most populated city in the Basque Country has always been one of the major industrial spots in Spain, but the factories and the steelmakers of the Ría del Nervión have been renovated in recent years. Bilbao has been given a facelift and has been reborn as a modern, cosmopolitan and cutting edge city, with The Guggenheim museum as its main attraction but maintaining the charm of the Casco Viejo (old quarter) or its old theatres.
WHAT TO DO?
The Guggeenheim museum is the major tourist attraction in the city, with a first class permanent collection and worldwide expositions. But Bilbao has more to offer than that, good ways to spend half a day are: walking around its commercial streets, visiting the new and modern San Mamés or walking along the Ría.
It's not difficult to end your journey in Casco Viejo, the old quarter of Bilbao, and maybe the most charming area of the city. Zazpi Kaleak, the Seven Streets that end at the Cathedral of Santiago, make up a neighbourhood full of life and a wonderful place to walk and eat some delicious pintxos.
If you have more time you can also walk along the Ría de Nervión toward the sea or visit the famous bridge of Portugalete and the beaches of Getxo. If you rent a car, the north coast of Vizcaya offers you an amazing coastal route with small villages and surfing meccas like Mundaka.
