Alicante & Valencia (one way)

Trip duration: 5 days
Alicante - Valencia
Discover the East of Spain in its purest form. Beach, culture, history and fun are assured in this one-way visit to both cities. Welcome to the Mediterranean Sea!

On this trip you will visit:

- Alicante is not only beautiful but young and vital, the city where everybody wants to go. You can chill on the beach or walk around while you enjoy a fresh beer and a free tapa. You will be amazed by its ambience.

- Valencia is the perfect combination of history and modernity. Its beaches, its outdoors lifestyle, its bars or its great cultural offer in places like the Museo de las Artes y las Ciencias, will not leave you indifferent. And of course the food, did you know that the typical paella is originally from Valencia? Enjoy!

You could spend your day in Alicante walking around the marina or the Explanada (promenade). A visit to the city centre is also a must do and won't take you long. Another big attraction is to climb the Benacantil hill to the Alicante fortress: Santa Bárbara Castle. From atop the castle, you have lovely panoramic views of the city and surrounding area. If you'd prefer a wide, quiet beach, then take the tram or bus to the nearby San Juan beach, almost 3 km of the best sand in the city. If you feel like going a little further, take the 50-minute ferry ride to Tabarca island. The island is a marine reserve, so grab your snorkel and enjoy the crystal waters. End the day with Alicante's famous nightlife; the city is won't disappoint you with its numerous bars, pubs and clubs open until late.

For a cultural start to the day, try visiting the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (although it's worth checking the opening hours in the summertime as it opens quite late). An early-bird walk on Postiguet beach or at the Marina are other great choices.

TRIP  Alicante - Valencia

During the evening in Valencia, you could visit the beach in the Malvarrosa neighbourhood, with its pleasant promenade, or the Arenas beach, in Cabanyal, just next door. Another popular alternative is to stay in the city centre and enjoy the Carmen neighbourhood with its many bars and small squares.

With a full day to spend in Valencia, you should visit the City of Arts and Sciences, the most important modern tourist destination in the city and one of the most impressive pieces of architecture in Europe. It has several attractive buildings including the biggest aquarium in Europe and an interactive science museum. Walking in the city centre is also a must, with a visit to the Carmen neighbourhood and to the two imposing towers (Torres de Quart and Torres de Serranos) that flank the entrance to the old city. Also visit the cathedral or the Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange). If you want to party, Valencian nightlife won't disappoint. Drink something in the city centre or make your way to the Ruzafa neighbourhood, which also has plenty of bars.
